Michelle Yu Honours B.A., Psychology and Concentration B.A., Criminology, University of Ottawa Michelle completed her degrees in April 1998 and is currently a stay-at-home mother to two young children and expecting another baby in early 2006. Following her studies at U. of O. she worked as the coordinator for a national, non-profit youth organization focused on highlighting the importance of youth mental health. In October 2000 she took a job in the field of intellectual property. She is now looking at furthering her education to research the limitations of current child pornography laws in Canada. Her research goals include examining the cost of monitoring child pornography and to challenge the present Canadian laws surrounding the trafficking and viewing of child pornography. She is also interested in refining how we criminalize material depicting children engaged in sexual conduct and, in doing so, transform societal attitudes we have about the right of children to be protected from sexual exploitation.
