Anca Micheti
Research Assistant, Faculty of Information and Media Studies, University of Western Ontario

Anca Micheti is a research assistant in the Faculty of Information and Media Studies at the University of Western Ontario. She has a Master’s in Media Studies from Western and a Master’s in Journalism from Ohio University. Before and for a while during grad school, she worked as a radio journalist and producer in her native country, Romania, and in the United States.

Her research interests are varied, but tend to focus around issues of language and how language shapes understanding and action. Currently, she’s working with Dr. Jacquelyn Burkell from Western and Dr. Valerie Steeves from the University of Ottawa on a project aiming to identify best practices for writing privacy policies for websites visited by kids and teens, so that young people can actually understand these policies and make informed decisions about their privacy online.
