Byron Thom LL.B Candidate, Faculty of Law, University of Ottawa
Byron is a graduate of the English Common Law program. Prior to starting law school and moving east, he graduated with a B.A.Sc. (Honours) from Simon Fraser University in Engineering Science with a concentration in systems engineering. In his intervening year he worked for a smal lengineering company specializing in laser scanners for the biomedical market. Byron’s research interests are wide and varying from dealing with the intersection of technology and man to the increased use of online and networked communities and their ability to predict offline dynamics. His research at law school included new approaches to intellectual property law and explorations of how technological regulation could impact environmental sustainability.
