Research

Sara Azargive, legal counsel at the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner/Ontario has been working in collaboration with Philippa Lawson and Catherine Thompson on the Access to Information Manual. The Manual will cover access rights under the Access to Information Act, the Privacy Act, PIPEDA as well as all provincial freedom of information acts. Sara's contribution will mainly focus on the Appeals section of the Manual. The main objective of this section is to introduce individuals to the general process involved in initiating an appeal. Since the basic premise of the Manual is to empower individuals to become their own privacy and FOI advocates this section will provide them with the tools that are necessary to confidently begin an appeal.
