Gerardo Ludert Gimenez
LL.M. (Law and Technology) Candidate, Faculty of Law, University of Ottawa

Gerardo Ludert is currently living in Ottawa while he is doing a Master’s Program at the University of Ottawa in Law and Technology.

In 2000, Gerardo graduated from the Universidad Católica Andrés Bello in Caracas-Venezuela with a Bachelors degree in Law.

Gerardo practiced law for more than three years in Venezuelan courts, specializing in areas such as Intellectual Property, Commercial Law, Civil Law, Labour Law, and Administrative Law. He also worked with an NGO in Venezuela giving free legal advise to people without economical resources in areas such marital status, home violence, child abuse, spouse abuse, prostitution, etc.

Research

During the next year Gerardo will be working in a project that will try to summarize practices and technologies used in E-Business for consumer profiling purposes. The idea of the project will be to see if those practices and technologies are consistent with current legislation in the area Data transmission, Data Protection and particularly Privacy.
